Hapcheon-gun Secures 51.6 Billion KRW in National and Provincial Funds for New Disaster Prevention Projects Next Year Hapcheon County Office, Gyeongnam.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, has secured 51.6 billion KRW in national and provincial funding for new disaster prevention projects next year.


The five disaster prevention project areas are ▲ Comprehensive maintenance of flood and wind disaster living zones ▲ Disaster risk improvement districts ▲ Disaster risk reservoirs ▲ Steep slope collapse risk areas ▲ Rainwater retention facilities.


The disaster prevention projects aim to protect residents' lives and prevent property damage from natural disasters by maintaining facilities in areas prone to flooding during typhoons and heavy rains, and by repairing aging steep slopes and reservoirs at risk of collapse.


Hapcheon-gun's secured national and provincial funding for ongoing projects next year includes 12.3 billion KRW for three flood and wind disaster living zones, 12.8 billion KRW for seven disaster risk improvement districts, 4.1 billion KRW for six steep slope collapse risk areas, and 7.6 billion KRW for one rainwater retention facility. The total project cost for 17 districts next year is 48.5 billion KRW.


County Governor Kim Yoon-cheol stated, "To build a 'Hopeful Future Hapcheon,' we recognize that the safety of our residents is the top priority. We will strive to proactively respond to natural disasters caused by rapidly changing climate conditions such as typhoons and localized heavy rains, and to expand disaster prevention projects to create a safe living environment."
