[Asia Economy Reporters Hyunju Lee, Hyunji Kwon] Jeong Jin-seok, Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, expressed concern over the recent North Korean missile launches on the 6th, criticizing them as a result caused by the Moon Jae-in administration.

At the Emergency Response Committee meeting held that day, Chairman Jeong stated, "The Moon Jae-in administration's humiliating diplomacy toward North Korea and peace show have brought about a serious security crisis on the Korean Peninsula."

Chairman Jeong explained, "Until now, North Korea has suspended missile provocations whenever South Korea-US military exercises began," adding, "North Korea's nuclear missile provocations have entered a completely new phase."

He continued, "The five years of low-profile diplomacy and peace shows toward North Korea under the Moon Jae-in administration have caused a total security crisis," and criticized, "The Democratic Party, instead of reflecting on this, passed a motion in the National Assembly to dismiss Foreign Minister Park Jin." He added, "Minister Park is working tirelessly to restore the South Korea-US alliance, which was hollowed out by the Moon administration, and to normalize the broken South Korea-Japan relations," and questioned, "Who would actually be pleased if Minister Park were dismissed?"

Chairman Jeong evaluated that former President Moon was deceived by Kim Jong-un's 'sweet lies.' He said, "North Korea has used the past five years to solidify its status as a nuclear power and to miniaturize nuclear weapons, securing considerable capabilities for ballistic missiles," adding, "Now we are in a situation where we have to live under the threat of nuclear weapons. Was former President Moon, who believed Kim Jong-un's denuclearization promises, incompetent or ignorant?"

He also urged the passage of a resolution condemning the legalization of North Korea's nuclear forces, which was proposed by the People Power Party.
