Colorful Performances by Traditional Artists, Unique Event Featuring Local Community Participation

Suncheon Cultural Heritage Night Walk Receives Praise for Gifting Citizens a Happy Autumn Evening

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Heo Seonsik] The first Cultural Heritage Night Tour, which illuminated the autumn nights of Suncheon City for three days starting from the 30th of last month, concluded with high praise as over 66,000 visitors attended.

At the opening ceremony, citizens and tourists together expressed their unified wishes by creating 'Suncheon, the First-Class Ecological Capital of Korea' using string art as the theme.

Along with this, various programs such as cultural heritage stamp tours and guided tours were operated, allowing visitors to see and experience cultural heritage that is not easily accessible, increasing visitor satisfaction.

This Cultural Heritage Night Tour stood out for expanding the urban Okcheon riverside into a cultural space, linking it to cultural heritage sites, and for its differentiated attempt to try urban camping through an overnight stay program.

Also, instead of concerts by major singers, the event featured diverse performances by skilled local traditional artists and participation from local residents, making it a distinctive event that greatly contributed to revitalizing the surrounding commercial districts.

Experts responsible for evaluating the Night Tour praised it, saying, "Among more than 50 local governments nationwide hosting cultural heritage night tours, Suncheon is the place that best embodies the purpose of the event on site."

This event was also noted for its dynamism and diversity, as the age of visitors was lower compared to last year, making it recognized as a festival for young people.

Additionally, there were many family participants, leading to high demand for experiential activities, with many people lining up and waiting to enjoy the experiences. In response, Suncheon City plans to expand experiential programs in the future to further increase citizen satisfaction.

The Suncheon Cultural Heritage Night Tour is held twice in total, with the second event scheduled to take place over three days from Friday, November 4 to Sunday, November 6.
