The planned number of public school selections by subject is 130 for 21 subjects, including 108 secondary school teachers, 18 health, professional counseling, and nutrition teachers, and 4 special (secondary) teachers.
The planned number of selections for persons with disabilities includes 9 under the total quota system for persons with disabilities conducted only for secondary school subjects, 3 for comparative subjects, and 1 for special (secondary) subjects, totaling 13.
The total quota system for persons with disabilities is a system that sets the maximum number of persons with disabilities that can be selected for each of the 17 secondary school subjects and selects within the total recruitment quota, allowing the selection of teachers with disabilities in various subjects.
The number of selections increased by 44 compared to the preliminary announced number, reflecting the Ministry of Education's teacher supply and demand plan and vacancy status, but decreased by 31 compared to the previous year.
From the 2023 academic year, the revision of the Private School Act mandates the open screening (first test), so the application and the first test will be conducted the same as for public schools.
Examinations after the first test and the final selection of successful candidates are based on the private school corporation's own plan, so it is necessary to refer to the announcement on the respective corporation's website.
Private secondary school teachers will be selected for 13 candidates in 9 subjects requested by 6 school corporations, increasing by 7 subjects and 8 persons compared to last year, and simultaneous application for public and private schools is possible for 7 subjects requested for both.
Eligibility for application includes holders of teacher certificates, including those expected to obtain them by February 2023 for the planned subjects, and holders of level 3 Korean History Proficiency Test certificates obtained from January 1, 2017, to the 61st Korean History Proficiency Test.
The application period is from October 17 to October 21, and applications are accepted online through the NAIS (National Education Information System) teacher online recruitment system.
The first test will be held on November 26, and the first successful candidates will be announced on December 29.
The second test, for first successful candidates, will include a practical evaluation on January 12, 2023, a teaching ability evaluation on January 18, 2023, and an in-depth interview on teaching aptitude on January 19, 2023, with the final successful candidates announced on February 7, 2023.
