The Board of Audit and Inspection Notified Moon of a Written Investigation Regarding the West Sea Shooting Incident... A Political Powder Keg

The Board of Audit and Inspection (BAI) reportedly notified former President Moon Jae-in of a written investigation related to the 'West Sea Civilian Shooting Incident' at the end of last month, according to reports on the 2nd.

This was intended to ascertain the facts related to the West Sea civilian shooting incident, which is currently under audit by the BAI.

According to political circles, the BAI informed former President Moon to respond to the written investigation via email and phone calls.

The BAI is also said to have sent a questionnaire containing the investigation details to former President Moon.

Moon’s side reportedly returned the email and expressed strong displeasure at the BAI’s notification of the investigation.

In this regard, Park Sung-jun, spokesperson for the Democratic Party, criticized in a verbal statement, "We are appalled by the report that the BAI has notified former President Moon of a written investigation," adding, "It has become clear that the target of political retaliation led by the prosecution and the BAI, starting from the transition team, is former President Moon."

Spokesperson Park stated, "The West Sea civilian shooting incident is an indisputable case," and added, "Nevertheless, we cannot contain our anger at the political retaliation using the BAI to disgrace a former president."

He further said, "Do they truly want the people to raise their candles?" and warned, "The Yoon Seok-yeol administration must be prepared for the people's anger."

The Democratic Party’s Committee Against Political Oppression by the Yoon Seok-yeol Administration plans to hold a press conference at the National Assembly Communication Office on the morning of the 3rd to condemn the BAI’s actions.
