At the 9th Gyeongnam Livestock Love Unity Festival, Governor Park Wan-su encourages local livestock farmers.
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, cheered for the development of the livestock industry in the province at the 9th Gyeongnam Livestock Love Unity Festival on the 30th.
The Gyeongnam Livestock Love Unity Festival, hosted by the Gyeongnam Livestock Association Council and Gyeongnam Nonghyup, was organized to contribute to ▲ production and consumption of eco-friendly livestock products through the creation of clean livestock farms ▲ improvement of livestock farmers' quality of life ▲ and regional economic development.
At the event, about 1,400 people attended, including Governor Park, Namhae County Mayor Jang Chungnam, Chairman of the Gyeongnam Provincial Council Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Committee Kim Hyuncheol, Chairman of Namhae County Council Im Taesik, Head of Nonghyup Gyeongnam Regional Headquarters Kim Juyang, heads of local agricultural and livestock cooperatives, and leaders and families from five livestock sectors: Hanwoo (Korean native cattle), pork, dairy, beekeeping, and poultry.
The festival, held under the theme "Gyeongnam Livestock Where Everyone Is Happy Together with the Residents!", proceeded with congratulatory performances, awards for meritorious persons, and event performances.
There were also tasting sessions and discount sales of excellent livestock products by sector, consumer experiences using livestock products, promotion and exhibition of smart livestock equipment, and a Harmony Festival.
On the day, Governor Park also held a luncheon meeting to hear field opinions for revitalizing the livestock industry.
Governor Park said, "Recently, livestock farmers are facing difficulties due to rising feed costs and the opening of the livestock product market," adding, "We will strive to strengthen the competitiveness of the livestock industry through support for smartization of livestock farms and improvement of the livestock environment."
