[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] Han Dong-hoon, Minister of Justice, has filed a complaint alleging stalking, including being followed on his way home at night, prompting the police to launch an investigation.

On the 30th, the Suseo Police Station in Seoul announced that they received a complaint on the 28th from the Ministry of Justice accusing a suspect of violating the Stalking Punishment Act, and are currently investigating the identified suspect.

A police official stated, "We have received the complaint and are conducting an investigation," adding, "We plan to investigate the vehicle owner and passengers."

The police have identified and begun questioning Mr. A and others on suspicion of following Minister Han by car on his way home over the past month and loitering near the entrance of his apartment. It is known that Mr. A and others started these actions several times since the end of last month at locations where Minister Han's last schedule of the day concluded, including the Ministry of Justice building in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province, the National Assembly in Yeouido, and the Constitutional Court.

Meanwhile, the current Stalking Punishment Act stipulates that anyone who, without justifiable reason and against the will of the other party, approaches or follows the other party causing anxiety or fear, shall be punished by imprisonment for up to three years or a fine of up to 30 million won.
