Changwon Special City Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony for Jinhae Substation Indoor Project Changwon Special City, Gyeongnam held a groundbreaking ceremony for the indoor conversion project of Jinhae Substation at the Jaeun Civil Service Center in Jinhae-gu.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Song Jong-gu] Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held a groundbreaking ceremony for the indoor conversion project of Jinhae Substation at 11 a.m. on the 30th at Jaeun Civil Service Center in Jinhae-gu.

The groundbreaking ceremony was attended by Hong Nam-pyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City; Lee Dal-gon, Member of the National Assembly; Jo Nam-gi, Head of Korea Electric Power Corporation Gyeongnam Headquarters; Park Chun-deok, Gyeongsangnam-do Provincial Assembly member; Lee Jong-hwa, Choi Jeong-hoon, Kim Su-hye, Changwon City Council members; and Jo Dong-je, Chairman of Jaeun-dong Residents' Autonomy Association.

The project is expected to improve the residential environment and quality of life for Jaeun-dong residents through prompt and safe construction.

Jinhae Substation, installed in 1983, has played an important role in supplying electricity to the Jinhae area, but concerns about electromagnetic wave damage and deterioration of urban aesthetics have led to continuous demands for indoor conversion. Through this indoor conversion project, it will be reborn as a city-type indoor substation with a total floor area of 2,403㎡ (1 basement floor, 3 above-ground floors), responsible for stable power supply in the Jinhae-gu area.

Mayor Hong said, “Congratulations on the groundbreaking of the indoor conversion project of Jinhae Substation, a long-cherished project of local residents,” adding, “Together with National Assembly member Lee Dal-gon, who played a major role in making this groundbreaking ceremony possible, we will do our best to make Jaeun District a new center of Changwon through the opening of the 2nd Anmin Tunnel scheduled for December 2023 and the road construction project between Jaeun 3 District and Pungho-dong.”
