Police Report Increase in Missing Dementia Patients... Guidance on Pre-Registration Targets
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] The Gangdong Police Station in Seoul is conducting a campaign to promote the 'Fingerprint Pre-registration System' in collaboration with BonIF, the operator of Bonjuk and Bon Dosirak.
The Fingerprint Pre-registration System allows the fingerprints, photos, and guardian contact information of children under 18, individuals with intellectual, autism, or mental disabilities, and dementia patients to be pre-registered in the police system for use in emergencies.
BonIF has produced 2 million shopping bags with packaging that includes information on the registration targets and methods, as well as a QR code to download the Safe Dream app, and has been distributing them since the 21st of this month. They are also promoting the fingerprint pre-registration system through social contribution activities such as 'Elderly Bonjuk Has Arrived.'
The Gangdong Police Station stated, "Reports of missing dementia patients are increasing due to the aging society," and added, "We plan to widely promote that pre-registration is possible not only for children but also for various other groups."
