"Supporting Pillars of the Korean Economy... [Asia Economy Reporter Cha Wanyong] On the 29th, Asia Economy held the ‘17th Asia Construction Comprehensive Awards’ event at the Korea Press Center and selected and announced the glorious winners who shone in the construction industry this year.


At this year’s Asia Construction Comprehensive Awards, GS Construction, POSCO Construction, and Seoul Housing & Communities Corporation received the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Award, while Hyundai Construction and Hyundai Engineering received the Seoul Mayor’s Award. SK Eco Plant and Lotte Construction received the Overseas Construction Association President’s Award, and DL E&C, Kumho Construction, Doosan Construction, Daewoo Construction, Booyoung Housing, Ssangyong Construction, Hanyang, and Hanwha Construction received the Asia Economy Representative Award.


Lee Won-jae, 1st Vice Minister of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, said in his congratulatory speech, "The construction industry has always been a strong pillar and a springboard in the history of the Republic of Korea," adding, "The government will work together with construction companies with one heart to achieve a new leap forward in the construction industry by swiftly implementing follow-up measures for realizing national housing stability, expanding investment in smart technology development and preparing incentive plans, and providing all-round support such as order diplomacy, financial support, and deregulation for overseas orders."


Han Je-hyun, Deputy Mayor for Administration of Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, "We must proactively respond to changes in market paradigms and demand to modernize the construction industry and discover new growth engines," adding, "Through convergence and fusion of technologies with various advanced industries, I hope to create new markets and added value, expand overseas construction markets, and establish a strong industry."
