Make Ulleungdo Safe! ... Ulleung-gun Conducts Serious Accident Punishment Act Training for Employees

Ulleung County held training on the Serious Accidents Punishment Act for all employees at the County Community Center on the 27th.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kyungho Ahn] Ulleung-gun, Gyeongbuk, conducted a “Strengthened Education on Understanding and Responding to the Serious Accident Punishment Act” on the 27th at the Gunmin Hall for about 200 workers and related personnel.

This training, prepared to enhance the understanding of the Serious Accident Punishment Act among Ulleung-gun Office employees, was conducted by inviting Honggi Ahn, an industrial safety instructor and member of the Serious Accident Prevention Team of the Gyeongbuk Office of Education, as the lecturer.

The training included practical content necessary for workers, such as the connection with the Industrial Safety and Health Act and explanations of risk cases, receiving positive responses from the attendees.

Enforced on January 27 of this year, the Serious Accident Punishment Act contains provisions to punish business owners and management officials if they violate safety and health measures obligations, resulting in serious casualties, to protect citizens and workers from serious industrial and civic accidents.

Nam Hangwon, the mayor of Ulleung-gun, said, “We will continue to conduct education to establish a safety and health management system suitable for the actual situation and to create a workplace free of serious accidents.”
