Hi Investment & Securities Obtains International Standard Certification for Environmental Management System

[Asia Economy Reporter Minji Lee] Hi Investment & Securities announced on the 28th that it has obtained the international standard certification for Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) to internalize ESG management.

The certification awarding ceremony was held on the 13th floor conference room of Hi Investment & Securities headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, attended by President Hong Won-sik and CEO Hwang Eun-joo of KMR Korea Management Registrar.

The Environmental Management System certification was introduced by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) to standardize the environmental management field as the importance of environmental issues has emerged. It evaluates and certifies how environmentally friendly a company’s management is.

Through the Environmental Management System certification, Hi Investment & Securities is establishing a systematic process for environmental management, a key element of ESG management, to promote the internalization of ESG management. The company plans to enhance company-wide awareness of environmental management by establishing and announcing related regulations and to ensure that the process is continuously maintained.

To expand awareness of environmental management, related campaigns will also be continuously promoted. In May, following last year, the company held the ‘Walking Together Season 2’ event, a departmental step count competition, which received great response from employees.

A representative of Hi Investment & Securities stated, “We conducted this certification evaluation to actively express our commitment to ESG management,” and added, “We will continue to promote various activities to achieve sustainable growth through ESG management.”

Meanwhile, Hi Investment & Securities has established and operates an ESG Committee within the board of directors to strengthen the execution and management system of ESG management.
