Baemin Launches Portal Covering the Entire Food Service Industry

Aiming to be an information portal for all restaurant industry workers

Baemin Launches Portal Covering the Entire Food Service Industry

Baemin, a leading food delivery service, is launching an information portal that encompasses the entire dining industry. This move comes from the recognition that in the rapidly changing dining sector amid the COVID-19 pandemic, reliable and high-quality information directly translates into competitive advantage. The plan is not only to provide one-way information but also to connect dining industry workers with necessary services and create a space for mutual communication.

According to Woowa Brothers on the 29th, the 'Baemin Sajangnim Square,' which operated as a channel between Baemin and its partner merchants, will be revamped into 'Baemin Dining Industry Square' on the 5th of next month. While the previous service focused mainly on Baemin’s partner merchants, the new portal aims to serve all dining industry workers.

The main focus of the revamp is to enhance high-quality content helpful to dining industry workers and to upgrade the platform so that merchants can share information and interact in response to the rapidly changing dining environment. First, the content will be significantly expanded. Information related to the dining industry is scattered, making it difficult for merchants to find and trust reliable answers when they need help. Baemin plans to provide timely information necessary for dining industry merchants, including delivery and packaging methods, how to use delivery apps, store management know-how, and public financial support policies for small business owners.

Content featuring expert advice on labor, taxation, and legal matters based on statistics accumulated by Baemin will also be offered. For example, merchants can find useful information that can be immediately applied to restaurant operations, such as how to handle situations when foreign substances are found in food, how to prevent noodles from becoming soggy during delivery, and simple ways to clean fryers.

Communication functions among dining industry merchants will also be strengthened. A 'Participation Square' page has been created to allow dining workers to empathize with each other’s stories and share their experiences. New surveys are posted daily, and small business owners in the dining sector can freely vote and comment to share opinions on timely issues. The response from dining merchants to these communication features has been very positive. Beyond simple information delivery, as the community aspect has been enhanced, the number of content users on the Baemin Sajangnim Square site increased by 187% as of the end of July this year compared to October last year.

A Baemin representative said, "Baemin Dining Industry Square will serve as a guide for the dining industry by consistently providing high-quality information in the rapidly changing dining sector to help merchants strengthen their competitiveness."
