Seoul City to Grow K-Fashion Captivating Paris into a Global Brand


[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] The Seoul Metropolitan Government announced on the 28th that it will form a joint pavilion for Seoul Fashion Week at the ‘Paris Fashion Week 2023 S/S TRANOI Trade Show (order exhibition)’ held at the Brongniart Palais in Paris from the 29th to the 2nd of next month, and will hold a joint fashion show on the 1st of next month to seek orders worldwide.


Seoul Fashion Week is evolving into a platform where domestic designers grow into global brands. This ‘2023 S/S TRANOI Trade Show (order exhibition)’ will strengthen K-Culture content centered on K-Fashion and collaborate extensively with the global fashion industry, including Paris TRANOI and Project Tokyo.


The Seoul pavilion, featuring nine Seoul Collection designers, and the fashion show, a gateway to Paris Fashion Week, will be held at the outdoor stage corridor of the Brongniart Palais in Paris. Participating brands include nine brands: DOUCAN, LIE, MMAM, SEOKWOONYOON, SUNGJU, ul:kin, JUNGHEEZIN, KUMANNYHJ, and tibaeg.


The joint fashion show of three brands held at Paris Fashion Week will be revealed through the official Seoul Fashion Week YouTube and Naver TV channels on the 10th of next month, one day before the opening of Seoul Fashion Week.


Meanwhile, a live broadcast will be conducted at the Seoul Fashion Week joint pavilion site targeting global buyers connected to Paris TRANOI, expanding not only on-site consultations but also online channels to maximize order effects. Hwang Bo-yeon, Director of Economic Policy at the Seoul Metropolitan Government, said, “Seoul Fashion Week will enhance its status through cooperation with the world-class order platform ‘Paris TRANOI’ and support K-Fashion to establish a foothold for overseas market entry.” He added, “We will continue to cooperate with major cities worldwide to expand the base that can raise the urban competitiveness and favorability of Seoul as a global beauty and fashion city.”
