[Asia Economy Reporters Lee Ji-eun and Kwon Hyun-ji] The People Power Party has launched a full-scale confrontation against MBC, which first reported President Yoon Seok-yeol's 'vulgar language remarks' controversy. They have labeled MBC's report as biased and manipulated broadcasting, formed a related task force (TF), and plan to conduct a protest visit on the 28th.

On the afternoon of the 27th, Joo Ho-young, the floor leader, said at a party meeting held at the National Assembly, "The People Power Party will form the 'MBC Biased and Manipulated Broadcasting Truth Investigation TF' to actively respond to correcting biased broadcasts."

Three-term lawmaker Park Dae-chul will serve as the team leader, with lawmakers Park Sung-joong, Yoon Han-hong, Yoon Doo-hyun, Choi Hyung-doo, Jang Dong-hyuk, and Jo Soo-jin participating.

Floor leader Joo pointed out, "MBC reported by overlaying so-called 'jirasi' subtitles without even the basic 'fact-checking' of the report," adding, "They have a history of abandoning journalistic ethics by impersonating police officers to investigate the wife of a leading opposition presidential candidate, and have continuously broadcast biased reports against our party."

Regarding the 'vulgar remarks controversy,' in response to the Democratic Party's announcement to propose a motion to dismiss Foreign Minister Park Jin, he said, "They are going beyond obstructing the president and government and are threatening them," adding, "The livelihood economy is difficult, and parliamentary cooperation is essential to overcome the crisis, so I earnestly ask the Democratic Party not to just boast about their number of seats but to cooperate."

Meanwhile, the People Power Party plans to visit MBC headquarters in Sangam on the morning of the 28th to protest and demand a truth investigation into the biased and manipulated reports. The protest visit will include Park Sung-joong, the ruling party's secretary of the Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee, committee members, Song Eon-seok, the floor deputy chief representative, and other floor deputy representatives.
