[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Pyeonghwa] LG Electronics participated as the main sponsor in the 'LG Electronics Park Seri World Match Golf Tournament' held on the 26th at Bears Best Cheongna Golf Club in Incheon. This tournament was organized as a charity event to support children with mobility impairments and aspiring young golfers.

A total of 12 players competed in the tournament. This included six LPGA legends such as golf queen Park Seri, Annika Sorenstam (Sweden), and Lorena Ochoa (Mexico), as well as six active KLPGA players.

Each time a player made a birdie, a birdie fund of 1 million KRW was accumulated, up to a maximum of 50 million KRW. Additionally, through donations for the charity event, a total of 200 million KRW was raised. The Park Seri Hope Foundation immediately donated 50 million KRW to Seoul Rehabilitation Hospital on-site after the tournament ended. The hospital plans to use the donation to purchase 30 LG StanbyMe devices and other equipment to aid in the rehabilitation treatment of children and adolescents with mobility impairments. The remaining donations will be managed by the Park Seri Hope Foundation and used to nurture junior golf players with talent.

Meanwhile, as part of its customer experience innovation, LG Electronics is supporting students with disabilities who have difficulty moving by providing LG StanbyMe, a device developed to allow fixed TVs to be moved freely. From the end of last year through the first half of this year, LG received applications from 55 individuals who experienced inconvenience moving fixed TVs while receiving treatment or studying due to disabilities, and selected them to receive LG StanbyMe devices.

Jang Jin-hyeok, Executive Vice President and Head of Korea Marketing Communications Group at LG Electronics, said, “We will continue to carry out differentiated marketing to promote LG Electronics while fulfilling our corporate social responsibility.”
