[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Jung-yoon] Prime Minister Han Duck-soo has ordered a thorough investigation into the cause of the fire at Daejeon Hyundai Premium Outlet.

On the 26th, Prime Minister Han gave these instructions after receiving a report on fire suppression and damage status during a phone call with Fire Chief Lee Heung-kyo, according to a press release from the Prime Minister's Office.

Prime Minister Han said, "Work closely with the police to thoroughly identify the cause and devise necessary measures to prevent recurrence according to the cause so that accidents like this do not happen again." He also urged, "Please do your best until the search for victims is completed."

Earlier that morning, Prime Minister Han gave an urgent order to the Minister of the Interior and Safety, the Fire Chief, and the Commissioner of the National Police Agency, saying, "Mobilize all available equipment and personnel to do your best in fire suppression and prevent any additional damage."

Meanwhile, according to the Daejeon Fire Headquarters, the fire that occurred around 7:45 a.m. that day resulted in the deaths of seven employees and one person seriously injured.
