[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold talks with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko.
According to foreign media on the 26th (local time), this meeting in Moscow comes after President Putin issued a mobilization order in Russia on the 21st.
Russia expects to mobilize 300,000 reservists through this partial mobilization order targeting reservists. Some speculate that Belarus, an ally of Russia, may also take additional military actions following the mobilization order.
Russia is the largest supporter of Belarus. Since the late 1990s, the two countries have pursued the creation of a union state, maintaining a close relationship beyond an alliance. Belarus actively supports Russia's invasion of Ukraine by providing military bases and other means.
However, recently President Lukashenko stated in an interview with domestic media regarding the possibility of issuing a mobilization order, "We will only fight when we must protect our homeland and land," adding, "It is Russia's matter. There will be no mobilization order here."
