[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Isul] "In the end, people are the scariest." On the afternoon of the 26th, actress Park Hyo-joo said this at the press screening of 'Mihok' held at Megabox COEX in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, adding, "I was strongly drawn to the way humans go mad and feel fear."

'Mihok,' which opens on the 19th of next month, is a mystery horror film about a family grieving the loss of their child who adopts a new child, leading to strange events. Park Hyo-joo, Kim Min-jae, and Cha Sun-woo (Baro) star in the film. On this day, director Kim Jin-young shared the background of the project, saying, "I wanted to tell a story about a character swayed by painful wounds after encountering a demon that uses bad memories or scars."

Park Hyo-joo, who plays Hyun-woo, the mother experiencing strange events, revealed, "I suffered from facial paralysis during filming," and confessed, "Having my face paralyzed was terrifying." She recalled, "At first, I felt fear rather than excitement. I sensed it wouldn't be easy." She added, "The lingering and subtle aspects of the script attracted me."

Kim Min-jae, who plays Seok-ho, the husband who decides to adopt the child and hopes for family peace, said, "He cannot escape from fear, and like the title, even within the family, he cannot find direction in the fog. I was curious from a creative perspective." He continued, "The relational fear and trauma that unfold before one's eyes intertwine and create horror."

Cha Sun-woo, formerly of the group B1A4, plays Young-jun, a neighbor youth who seems to know all the truths. He said, "I was drawn to the attractive character," and "I liked that it was not a common horror but had a unique theme." He also mentioned that filming at the reservoir was tough, adding, "The cold weather became another source of fear."

About Cha Sun-woo, Park Hyo-joo said, "He had a mysterious gaze and was an actor with such a unique and good look." She added, "Thanks to his gaze, I was immersed moment by moment."
