[Asia Economy Reporter Jeon Jinyoung] Amid rising tensions in Russia due to the partial mobilization order for reservists, an incident occurred where a man went to a military mobilization center and fired a gun.


According to foreign media on the 26th (local time), a man entered the military mobilization center in Ust-Ilimsk, Irkutsk Oblast, Siberia, and fired at the staff inside.


The shooting seriously injured the center's head, who was taken to the hospital, and the suspect was immediately apprehended at the scene.


Igor Kobzev, governor of Irkutsk Oblast, announced the shooting incident on his social media account and emphasized, "The detained suspect will definitely be punished."


Since Russian President Vladimir Putin issued the partial mobilization order for reservists on the 21st, protests against it have erupted across Russia. On the 24th, anti-mobilization protests were held in 32 regions nationwide, with 724 participants reportedly detained by the police.
