[Asia Economy Reporter Seunggon Han] A team of trainees from the Asia Economy Education Center's Big Data course won the grand prize at the 'Lotte Members Big Data Competition.' This achievement was earned after competing against a total of 543 teams (1,067 participants) over three months.

Now in its seventh year, this competition aims to discover talent in the data field. Winners receive exemption from document screening in the Lotte Members related job recruitment process. As four previous winners have joined Lotte Members, the competition is highly competitive among job seekers preparing for careers in big data.

On the 5th, the grand prize was awarded to the 'LOVE' team (Seo Hee-su, Ha Tae-ho, Ko Jeong-hwan), who proposed 'Personalized Marketing Service L.CUSTY' based on customer purchase data analysis and predictive model development.

The winning work was praised by judges for its systematic process covering marketing demand analysis and planning, model development, marketing strategy, and final report, as well as its innovative ideas.

Team leader Seo Hee-su said, "At first, I was anxious about the project because I am a non-major. Through this competition, I was able to confirm what strengths a non-major can have in this new data technology industry."

Other team members also shared, "Since our team was composed of non-majors, we did not expect results from the start. However, we believe this is the result of working hard together with great teammates," and added, "We will continue to strive in the big data field."

The Asia Economy Education Center, which produced the grand prize team, has been operating the 'K-Digital Training' program, hosted by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, for three years since 2020. It has been recognized as an excellent institution for leading 4th industrial revolution training, producing high-quality education and differentiated project outcomes. Additionally, it directly incorporates corporate demand for big data, fintech, and artificial intelligence technologies into its curriculum, increasing employment opportunities in IT new technology fields for non-majors and beginners.

Currently, recruitment for the second half of 2022 training students is underway. For more details, please visit the Asia Economy Education Center website.
