[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Jun-kyung] Jeonnam Provincial Office of Education announced on the 26th that it conducted the ‘2022 Academic Year High School Credit System Leading Schools Implementation Stage Consulting’ for 180 vice principals and administrative staff from 86 general high schools at Naju Space Cowork.


This consulting was prepared to identify operational issues and improvement tasks through close consulting by area for high school credit system leading schools, as well as to discover effective operation models and best practices.


The Office of Education formed a support team consisting of high school credit system administrative staff, curriculum experts, and career and college admission specialists, and conducted consulting by dividing them into 18 groups of 4 to 5 schools each based on the number of classes.


After analyzing the consulting application forms to extract common requirements, lectures focused on case studies were conducted on key tasks for leading schools such as student elective curriculum operation, career and academic planning guidance, and enhancement of classes and evaluations, addressing problems and improvement measures.


Jeong Seon-young, Director of Secondary Education, said, “We will strengthen the credit system operation capabilities of individual schools in preparation for the partial introduction in 2023 according to the phased implementation plan of the high school credit system,” and added, “We will promote customized measures suitable for the characteristics of Jeonnam, which has many rural and small schools, to ensure the successful establishment of the high school credit system.”
