The scholarship funds will be used for purchasing textbooks and school supplies, as well as for activities inside and outside of school.
Since its inception in 2008, the Gasan Youth Scholarship Project has provided scholarships to over 1,000 students. A representative of the Gasan Cultural Foundation said, "The foundation supports students who pursue their goals with excellent grades and outstanding talents so that they can focus on their studies," adding, "We will continue to actively carry out activities for future leaders through various social contribution projects."
The Gasan Cultural Foundation is a nonprofit organization established in 2007 by the late Chairman Choi Soo-bu, the founder of Gwangdong Pharmaceutical, and Gwangdong Pharmaceutical jointly for the purpose of scholarship and academic support projects. In addition to the Gasan Youth Scholarship Project, it operates programs such as the "Barefoot Youth Scholarship Project," "Art Gifted Scholarship Project," and "Sports Dream Tree Scholarship Project," providing multifaceted support to young people.
