[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A woman in her 20s has been arrested on charges of stabbing her sleeping cohabiting boyfriend with a weapon, leaving him in critical condition.

On the 23rd, Shin Yong-mu, chief judge of the Seoul Eastern District Court, conducted a pre-arrest interrogation of the woman in her 20s, identified as A, and issued an arrest warrant citing "risk of flight."

A is accused of stabbing her cohabiting boyfriend B, a man in his 30s, with a weapon at around 6:10 p.m. on the 21st at a villa in Bangi-dong, Seoul, attempting to kill him while he was asleep. After the incident, A reportedly called 119, saying "My boyfriend has been stabbed."

B was immediately transferred to the hospital's intensive care unit and is currently conscious following surgery.
