[Asia Economy Reporter Noh Kyung-jo] Dongbu Construction announced on the 23rd that it has earned the 'Excellent' grade for three consecutive years in the 2021 Win-Win Growth Index evaluation announced by the Win-Win Growth Committee.
The Win-Win Growth Index is an index that evaluates the level of win-win growth of companies. It is measured based on performance evaluations, including a survey on the perception of large corporations' win-win management by small and medium enterprises conducted by the Win-Win Growth Committee, as well as the Fair Trade Commission's evaluation results on the implementation of fair trade agreements.
Companies with an Excellent grade receive incentives such as a one-year exemption from the Fair Trade Commission's ex officio investigations and additional points in the Public Procurement Service's pre-qualification (PQ) for public bidding participation.
Dongbu Construction stated that despite difficult market conditions such as rising raw material prices and a downturn in the construction industry, it has prepared various support measures for win-win cooperation and achieved positive results. This is seen as a result of steadily expanding the practice of win-win growth alongside business performance growth.
Dongbu Construction usually pays subcontracting, material costs, and labor costs in full cash to secure liquidity for its partners. In August, ahead of Chuseok, it provided approximately KRW 83 billion in construction payments to about 80 partner companies at various sites up to 10 days earlier than the scheduled payment date.
In addition, it is conducting various win-win growth projects such as management consulting for partner companies, awards and educational support for excellent partners, and activities to eradicate unfair subcontracting transactions. Earlier in May, it contributed KRW 150 million to the Foundation for Large and Small Enterprises and Agricultural and Fishery Cooperation, and in June, it received the highest grade for five consecutive years in mutual cooperation evaluations among construction companies.
A Dongbu Construction official said, "We have continuously maintained win-win cooperation through mutual partnerships with the belief that the growth of our partners is directly linked to the development of our company," adding, "In difficult environments such as rising raw material prices, everyone will work together to overcome the crisis."
