Attendance at the 2022 Community Movement Core Leader Capacity Building Workshop

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, told Saemaeul leaders in the province, "You have been a great foundation in making the Republic of Korea a place of hope and a global economic powerhouse."
Governor Park attended the 2022 Core Leaders Capacity Building Workshop for Community Movements on the 21st and encouraged the Saemaeul leader participants.
The workshop, hosted by the Gyeongsangnam-do Saemaeul Association, was organized to enhance leadership in communication and empathy among Saemaeul leaders in the province, strengthen their capabilities, and plan practical measures for this year's key tasks of life, peace, and community movement.
About 450 people, including Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, Park Jongwoo, Mayor of Geoje City, and Saemaeul leaders from across the province, attended the entrance ceremony.
The event proceeded in the order of a greeting from An Hwayeong, President of the Gyeongnam Saemaeul Association, an encouragement speech by Governor Park Wansu, a welcome speech by Mayor Park Jongwoo of Geoje City, and a commemorative photo session.
After the entrance ceremony, a special lecture titled "Leadership of Communication and Empathy for Organizational Revitalization" was held, followed by a roundtable discussion on "Strengthening Organizational Capabilities through Life, Peace, and Community Movements."
On the 22nd, representatives from city and county branches will introduce their flagship projects, and presentations on cases promoted by outstanding communities will be conducted.
Governor Park said, "I hope this workshop will serve as an opportunity for the Saemaeul Association to take on new challenges and move toward a greater future, becoming a major driving force for the development of Gyeongnam."
He added, "The vision of the 8th elected provincial administration, Vibrant Gyeongnam and Happy Residents, is based on the two pillars of economy and welfare. We will revitalize the economy through investment attraction and entrepreneurship promotion and overcome social polarization by strengthening welfare."
