[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chun-hee] SK Bioscience announced on the 21st that it will provide scholarships to universities located in Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province, to commemorate the launch of the first domestically produced COVID-19 vaccine, 'Skycovione Multi,' and to contribute to the development of local bio talent.


Andong City is the location of SK Bioscience's vaccine production facility, 'L House.' Starting with Korea Polytechnic University, SK Bioscience plans to deliver scholarships this month to Andong Science College, Catholic Sangji College, and Yeungjin College to foster leading personnel in the bio industry.


Jae-yong Ahn, President of SK Bioscience, said, "Korea is a country that the World Health Organization (WHO) has solely designated as a global bio talent training hub, attracting worldwide attention in the bio field," adding, "We will strive to make Korea a leading country in the global bio market through nurturing local talent."
