Jinju City Visits National Assembly to Request Major National Budget Projects for Next Year

Request for Support on Key Issues Including Urban Regeneration Projects
Building Cooperation with Local Members of Parliament, Full Effort to Secure National Funding

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Shin Jong-woo, Vice Mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam Province, visited the National Assembly on the 20th to secure national funding for 2023.

Vice Mayor Shin met with National Assembly members Park Dae-chul, Kang Min-guk, and other Gyeongnam region lawmakers to explain the necessity of national funding support for major projects in Jinju City and requested cooperation to ensure that the requested amounts are fully reflected during the National Assembly's review process.

The main proposed projects include ▲ Seongbuk District Urban Regeneration New Deal Project ▲ Jungang District Urban Regeneration New Deal Project ▲ Sangpyeong Industrial Complex Regeneration Project ▲ Aging Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project (Phase 1 - Stage 2) ▲ Sewer Pipeline Maintenance Project for Chojun-dong and 8 other districts ▲ Construction of a Public Specialized Science Museum ▲ Creation of Jeongchon-myeon Fossil History Park ▲ Korea Drama Festival, among 14 projects in total.

Additionally, support was requested to ensure that ▲ Sangdae District Urban Regeneration Project ▲ Hadae District Urban Regeneration Project ▲ Green Bio Venture Campus Construction Project ▲ 2023 Jinju Asia Weightlifting Championships ▲ Remodeling Project for Youth Startup Spaces in Closed or Idle Factories in Sangpyeong Industrial Complex are selected in central government department competitions.

Vice Mayor Shin stated, “We will build a close cooperative system with local National Assembly members and devote all our efforts to effectively respond during the National Assembly review stage to secure national funding for 2023.”
