[Asia Economy Reporter Hwang Seoyul] Kolon Global announced on the 21st that its specialized Haneulchae product, 'Outdoor Ground,' was selected for excellence in design at the '2022 Good Design Award.'
Hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and organized by the Korea Institute of Design Promotion, the Good Design Award has been held annually since 1985 under the Industrial Design Promotion Act and is the most prestigious design award ceremony in Korea. The award categories include seven fields: product, visual/information, digital media/content, space/environment, fashion/textile, service/experience, and industrial crafts. Products selected as award winners are granted the right to use the government certification mark, the ‘Good Design (GD, Good Design)’ logo.
This year, the Outdoor Ground was selected as an excellent design in the space/environment design category. It is a representative landscaping item of the Haneulchae apartments, featuring a jogging track at the center of the complex and community spaces themed around exercise, play, and relaxation. In particular, the central track created in the main plaza of the complex is the core of Outdoor Ground, designed in a circular form that unites various spaces, earning high marks for both functionality and design.
A Kolon Global official stated, "Through this Good Design Award selection, not only the functional aspects of Outdoor Ground but also its design excellence have been recognized," adding, "We will continue to develop and advance landscaping specialized products that lead customers' lifestyles."
Meanwhile, Kolon Global recently won the main prize at the 'Red Dot Design Award 2022,' one of the world's top three design awards, through its storage strategy product 'Kankan Smart Space.' Additionally, in April and June of this year, the company consecutively unveiled specialized landscaping products ‘Haneulchae SigNature’ and ‘Haneulchae Pet GYM,’ demonstrating ongoing efforts in developing specialized landscaping and products for Haneulchae.
