Gwangju National Science Museum Hosts 'Special Invitation Event on 3rd Quarter Closure Days'

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The National Gwangju Science Museum announced on the 20th that it held the '2022 3rd Quarter Closed Day Special Invitation Event' on the 19th, inviting about 60 students and teachers from Gwangju Segwang School located in Deokheung-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.

This invitation event accepted applications from special schools and social welfare facilities located in the Gwangju and Jeonnambuk regions, and Gwangju Segwang School was finally selected.

The children who visited the science museum watched the permanent exhibition hall, special video theater, and robot dance performance together with the museum staff, and afterwards enjoyed lunch and snacks provided by the museum, spending a joyful time.

Jeon Tae-ho, Acting Director, said, "The National Gwangju Science Museum, as a regional hub national science museum in the Honam area, is discovering and promoting various projects to bridge the science culture gap together with the support association," and added, "We hope for much interest and participation from citizens in the National Gwangju Science Museum Support Association so that the support projects can continue without interruption."

The National Gwangju Science Museum Closed Day Special Invitation Event has been held quarterly since 2016 with the support of the National Gwangju Science Museum Support Association (Chairman Kim Hong-gyun), and on Mondays, the museum's closed days, all general staff members directly participate to provide guided tour services.

This year, the National Gwangju Science Museum plans to continue spreading science culture by conducting outreach science museum programs and science dream tree invitation events targeting underprivileged groups in science culture, together with the National Gwangju Science Museum Support Association.
