[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Hye-sun] LG Uplus announced on the 18th that it has signed a strategic partnership with Tmax Metaverse to strengthen competitiveness in metaverse services by jointly researching new service discovery and core technologies.
Tmax Metaverse, a metaverse platform and service specialist company, possesses proprietary technologies such as game engines and 3D production studios, providing connected metaverse experiences across all industries including fintech and commerce.
The two companies plan to collaborate mainly on joint research and development of multi-access metaverse solutions, discovery of web-based metaverse services, and development of core technologies. They expect to create synergy by combining Tmax Metaverse's service and infrastructure technology capabilities with LG Uplus's differentiated service concept discovery capabilities.
LG Uplus is targeting the market with segment-specific metaverse services, launching U+ Virtual Office and U+ Kids Metaverse this year. Additionally, as part of the four major platform strategies to open the 'U+ 3.0' era, it is discovering 'Web 3.0' business models such as metaverse that can provide real value to customers, and has partnered with Tmax Metaverse, which possesses excellent metaverse technology.
