Providing Human Resource Development (HRD) Services to 1.62 Million Workers and 155,000 Companies in Gangnam-gu and Southeast Seoul Areas
The Human Resources Development Service of Korea (President Oh Soo-bong) held an opening ceremony on the 16th (Friday) at 2 PM at the Seoul Gangnam Branch of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea, located on Teheran-ro, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
The event was held on a small scale with only about 30 guests attending, including National Assembly member Yoo Kyung-joon, Gangnam District Mayor Cho Sung-myung, Gangnam District Council Chairman Kim Hyung-dae, Seoul Regional Employment and Labor Office Chief Noh Gil-jun, and President Bae Myung-jik of the Skilled Technicians Federation, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The Seoul Gangnam Branch will oversee four districts in southeastern Seoul?Gangnam, Seocho, Songpa, and Gangdong?and is expected to serve as a local HRD field service hub by promoting various projects such as lifelong learning support for companies and workers, vocational competency development training, work-study parallel programs to activate youth employment, and skilled technician encouragement.
With the opening of this branch, companies and workers in the four southeastern Seoul districts will now be able to access the services provided by the Service more conveniently.
President Oh Soo-bong of the Service stated, “With the opening of the Seoul Gangnam Branch, we will strengthen HRD capabilities to actively support the growth and development of the local community and promote the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises and workers in vocational competency development.”
National Assembly member Yoo Kyung-joon, who played a significant role in the opening of the Seoul Gangnam Branch, said in his congratulatory speech, “I hope that companies and workers in our region will enhance their competitiveness through the Service’s human resource development services and create more jobs in the local community. Going forward, I, along with the Human Resources Development Service and newly appointed Mayor Cho Sung-myung, will continue efforts as one team to establish testing departments and testing centers.”
Gangnam District Mayor Cho Sung-myung expressed his expectations in his welcoming speech, saying, “With the establishment of the Human Resources Development Service of Korea Seoul Gangnam Branch in Gangnam-gu, residents of Gangnam and the surrounding areas can now access employment capacity enhancement services more easily and quickly.”
Following this, key figures including Gangnam District Council Chairman Kim Hyung-dae, Korean Confederation of Trade Unions Standing Vice Chairman Kim Hyun-jung, Korea Employers Federation Executive Vice President Lee Dong-geun, and leaders of skilled technician organizations also supported the successful launch of the Seoul Gangnam Branch.
