Byeongno Lee, Damyang County Governor, Inspects Peace Art Park Development Site

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Lee Byeongno, the mayor of Damyang County, conducted an on-site inspection to symbolize the image of peace and create a park where art coexists.

According to the county on the 14th, the Peace Art Park to be created in the Banryong-ri area of Damyang-eup is currently undergoing detailed design services, with a total area of 28,060㎡ and a project cost of 3.5 billion KRW, aiming for completion in 2023.

The current project site is a vacant area of the old 88 Expressway, and once the park is completed, it is expected to be reborn as a space symbolizing the image of peace and where art coexists.

The memorial space will include a loyalty monument along with a shared space for artistic activities and a children's traffic experience area where infants and children can experience traffic, allowing people to enjoy peace and cultural arts together in daily life.

Mayor Lee Byeongno said, “We will utilize the vacant space to establish a space where the noble spirit of veterans' culture, freedom, democracy, and peace can be naturally empathized with by future generations without any setbacks.”
