[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] The Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Complex Center in Nam-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, will open anew on the 19th.
Nam-gu announced on the 14th, "With the selection in the government-led Living SOC Complex Project competition, the construction of the new Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Complex Center building within Yuan Neighborhood Park has been completed," adding, "Starting from the 19th, various civil service tasks and administrative services will be provided at the new building."
The construction of the Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Complex Center originated from the first district visit by Kim Byeong-nae, the district mayor during the 7th local government term, in July 2018, when residents requested the relocation and reconstruction of the administrative welfare center. At that time, the administrative welfare center was old and deteriorated, and parking space was limited, causing continuous complaints about inconvenience.
Accordingly, Nam-gu secured approximately 8 billion KRW in project funds by participating in the government-led Living SOC Complex Project competition and, after gathering residents' opinions from January 2019, has been carrying out construction for over three years.
The recently completed Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Complex Center is designed with two underground floors and two above-ground floors, connected to the underground parking lot and walking paths of Yuan Neighborhood Park.
The second basement floor is a dedicated space for residents to enjoy cultural activities, consisting of a living culture center, resident autonomy program rooms, and meeting rooms.
There are wooden floor spaces and soundproof rooms for practicing dance and musical instruments, and three spaces installed for resident autonomy program activities.
Additionally, the first floor and other above-ground floors house the administrative welfare center's civil service office, welfare counseling room, and a small library, serving as spaces for civil petitioners.
To enhance parking convenience for residents, 16 parking spaces were installed in the underground area, and accessibility and convenience were improved by connecting to the underground parking lot of Yuan Neighborhood Park.
District Mayor Kim Byeong-nae stated, "The long-awaited construction of the new building for Bongseon 2-dong residents has finally been completed. We will provide better administrative services in this new space and actively utilize the Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Complex Center as a place supporting residents' cultural life and artistic activities."
Meanwhile, the opening ceremony of the new Bongseon 2-dong Administrative Complex Center is scheduled for the 27th.
