Vaccinations Start from the 5th... For Unvaccinated Adults Aged 18 and Over
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Chunsu Kim] Damyang-gun, Jeonnam announced that from the 5th, it has started administering the country's first COVID-19 vaccine, Skycovione, to unvaccinated individuals aged 18 and over.
The Skycovione vaccine was produced using a recombinant DNA technology method, similar to vaccines with extensive administration experience such as influenza and hepatitis B vaccines.
This vaccine is used for the primary vaccination (1st and 2nd doses) of unvaccinated individuals aged 18 and over, with a 4-week interval between the 1st and 2nd doses.
According to clinical trial results by SK Bioscience, Skycovione showed a 2.9-fold increase in neutralizing antibody levels that suppress infection risk compared to AstraZeneca (AZ: control vaccine), and the rate of antibody production was reported to be more than 10% higher.
Advance reservations can be made through the website or by phone, and vaccination dates can be selected starting from the 13th.
Since the 5th, same-day vaccinations have been available at the Damyang-gun Public Health Center, and vaccinations by advance reservation will begin on the 13th. Those wishing to receive same-day vaccination must confirm availability by phone with the vaccination institution.
Vaccinations are available at the Damyang-gun Public Health Center and Hana Clinic in Damyang-eup, a designated entrusted medical institution.
A county official urged, “Since the Skycovione vaccine is produced using a method similar to widely administered vaccines like influenza, we ask unvaccinated residents to actively participate in vaccination.”
