In Part 2, key agenda items included value creation based on platform innovation such as digital inclusion and support for ventures and small businesses. In particular, there was consensus that it is important for platform companies to strive to share innovation throughout society in platform self-regulation.
The discussion covered ways to promote innovative social value creation utilizing the characteristics of digital platforms such as data, networks, and digital technologies. They also shared innovation cases based on digital platforms so far and agreed to continue discussions within the subcommittee to foster a culture of innovation sharing based on platforms in the future. Furthermore, the ESG subcommittee decided to discuss changing its name at the subcommittee level to intuitively reflect the value of innovation sharing.
Hong Jin-bae, Director of the Network Policy Office at the Ministry of Science and ICT, said, "I hope each subcommittee will serve as a forum where the wisdom of various stakeholders gathers," and added, "The government will also actively support the derivation of effective self-regulation measures and the creation of a healthy platform ecosystem."
