Jin Byeong-yeong, Hamyang County Governor, Conducts On-Site Inspection for Typhoon Preparedness

Thorough Typhoon Preparedness at Sansam Festival Site, Facility Houses, and Agricultural Industrial Complex on the 5th

County Governor Jin Byeong-yeong is conducting an on-site inspection in preparation for the typhoon.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jin Byeong-yeong, the mayor of Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam, conducted on-site safety inspections of local farms and major business sites on the morning of the 5th in response to the approaching typhoon, doing his utmost to prevent damage.

This typhoon is expected to approach with very strong force and make landfall on the southern coast. According to forecasts, more than 300mm of heavy rain and strong winds are expected around the Jirisan area.

Accordingly, Mayor Jin visited the site preparing for the Sansam Festival typhoon, as well as greenhouse farms and agricultural industrial complexes, conducting urgent on-site inspections. He also instructed related departments and township offices to respond promptly in case of any incidents, urging efforts to minimize damage.

Mayor Jin stated, “This typhoon is one of the strongest ever recorded, with a high risk of damage, so thorough preparation is necessary. We will be meticulous in managing facilities and preventing safety accidents for the safety of our residents.”

Earlier, Hamyang-gun temporarily closed the festival site and suspended the 17th Hamyang Sansam Festival from the 5th to the 7th due to the typhoon’s impact.

Additionally, the Disaster Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has been activated, organizing emergency duty teams for all public officials, including department heads stationed at their posts, maintaining a seamless system to prepare for any emergencies. Surveillance activities have also been strengthened for disaster-vulnerable facilities and areas, ensuring full readiness.
