Yeosu City Concentrates All Administrative Efforts on On-Site Inspections for Typhoon 'Hinnamnor' Preparedness

[Asia Economy] Yeosu City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Jeong Gi-myeong) announced that it is concentrating all administrative efforts on pre-inspection as Typhoon No. 11 ‘Hinnamnor’ approaches.

According to the city, response teams were organized by sector to complete on-site inspections together with eup, myeon, and dong employees at various construction sites, flood and landslide risk areas, traditional markets and tourist facilities, vinyl greenhouses and farmland, and resident evacuation facilities.

In particular, real-time situations, measures taken, and interdepartmental cooperation matters are shared via SNS group chat rooms to supplement deficiencies, and the city plans to respond promptly to any crisis situations that may arise in the future.

Typhoon ‘Hinnamnor’ is expected to have a significant impact on the Yeosu area from tonight until tomorrow morning.

Especially, the high tide times in the Yeosu area are scheduled for 5:06 PM on the 5th, and 5:05 AM and 6:35 PM on the 6th, raising concerns about flooding damage mainly in low-lying coastal areas.

Currently, about 1,000 vessels are anchored at Gukdong Port in Yeosu to avoid the typhoon.

Meanwhile, passage on the Yi Sun-sin Bridge and Dolsan Bridge is restricted when the average wind speed exceeds 25 m/s or the instantaneous wind speed exceeds 35 m/s. The city expects these restrictions to be enforced tonight or early tomorrow morning.

All flights at Yeosu Airport have also been canceled starting this afternoon.
