CMG Pharmaceutical Launches Maternal and Child Health Brand 'Cha&Mom'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Chunhee] CMG Pharmaceutical recently officially launched the brand ‘CHA&MOM’ for the health of mothers and children and announced on the 5th that it will introduce baby skincare products.


The newly released products include three types of baby skincare: ▲Phytoserin Hair & Body Wash ▲Phytoserin Moisture Lotion ▲Phytoserin Intense Cream. Phytoserin is a compound word combining plant-based (PHYTO), safe environment (SE, Safe Eco), and forming a barrier (LINE). It is a proprietary ingredient developed by CMG Pharmaceutical by combining microbiome-based probiotics and natural plant-derived ingredients.


During natural childbirth, the baby passes through the birth canal and undergoes a ‘probiotic shower,’ where the mother’s vaginal probiotics coat the baby’s entire body. Focusing on the fact that this probiotic shower influences the formation of the baby’s skin immunity, Phytoserin was designed by optimally blending key elements of the probiotic shower such as the vaginal beneficial bacteria Lactobacillus plantarum (L. plantarum) and plant-derived moisturizing ingredients to help moisturize and soothe the baby’s skin.


Lactobacillus ferment and lysate help prevent harmful substances from penetrating the skin and promote the growth of beneficial skin bacteria, aiding in soothing the baby’s skin. Lipid components such as plant-extracted ceramide, beta-sitosterol (plant-based cholesterol), and fatty acids help prevent skin dryness and strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier, maintaining a healthy skin ecosystem for the baby. The patented ingredient Lycium barbarum extract (CHA-LF), developed with Cha Bio Group technology, helps restore skin barrier function and improve itching symptoms.


CHA&MOM is a brand that contains the meaning of ‘Mom,’ referring to mothers, as well as ‘Mam,’ a shortened form of ‘mind’ in Korean. CMG Pharmaceutical aims to grow CHA&MOM into a brand that offers health solutions for the whole family, starting with skincare products and expanding to health functional foods.


Lee Joohyung, CEO of CMG Pharmaceutical, said, “Dermatology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, pharmacy, and food therapy experts participated in the development of CHA&MOM products,” adding, “We will continue to introduce products for the health of children and mothers, including launching nutritional supplements for pregnant women in the second half of this year.”
