In contrast, Colombia was selected as the most dangerous country, and South Korea ranked 19th.
According to CNBC, Bounce recently analyzed and announced the rankings of the "Safest Countries for Women Traveling Alone in 2022."
The most dangerous place for female travelers was Colombia, with Costa Rica, the United States, Chile, and T?rkiye also ranking low. On the other hand, Ireland, which scored 7.88 out of 10, was chosen as the safest country. Ireland received excellent scores in all categories except for the "Safety Index" and the "Feeling Safe Walking Alone at Night" sections.
Austria ranked second with a score of 7.70. Norway, Slovenia, and Switzerland followed. Japan scored 5.97 overall, placing 10th.
South Korea received an overall score of 5.28 out of 10, ranking 19th among the 34 countries. It ranked 7th in the safety index, the highest among the countries, and 11th in the category of the proportion of female victims of murder and sexual violence.
However, it scored low in categories such as the "Percentage of Women Who Feel Safe Walking Alone at Night," "Gender Equality Index," and "Attitudes Toward Violence Against Women." In particular, the gender equality index was ranked 32nd out of 34 countries.
