[Hwasun=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Ji-woon] Jeonnam Hwasun-gun announced on the 1st that it will carry out special monitoring activities for environmental pollution violations from the 5th to the 12th to prevent illegal acts such as unauthorized discharge of pollutants during the Chuseok holiday.
This monitoring activity will be conducted in two stages to comply with COVID-19 quarantine rules and minimize inconvenience caused by visits to business sites.
Before the Chuseok holiday, a cooperation letter encouraging voluntary inspections will be sent during the prior publicity and guidance period, and non-face-to-face patrol activities will be prioritized for 15 key monitoring facilities.
During the holiday period, a situation room will be operated to respond immediately in case of environmental pollution accidents, and businesses that intentionally and habitually discharge pollutants such as wastewater and livestock manure without authorization will be strictly dealt with through complaints and administrative measures according to relevant laws and regulations.
A county official said, “We will strengthen special monitoring activities during the Chuseok holiday to minimize environmental pollution and do our best to ensure that residents can have a safer and more enjoyable holiday.”
