[Asia Economy Reporter Yuri Choi] Naver Z has partnered with Thailand's largest telecommunications company, True (TRUE), to establish a global metaverse creator hub. On the 1st, Naver Z announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with True to foster the Zepeto metaverse ecosystem.
Using Zepeto as a platform, they plan to provide online-to-offline (O2O) experiences tailored to the lifestyles of Thai consumers and transform Thailand's soft power into metaverse content. The number of Zepeto users in Thailand reaches several million. More than 500,000 Thai users are active as creators on Zepeto.
Kang Hee-seok, Business Leader at Naver Z, said, “On Zepeto, anyone can realize the ideas they have dreamed of, interact with other users, and generate economic benefits,” adding, “Through extensive collaboration with the True Group, which has strong influence in Thailand, we will promote Zepeto’s growth within Thailand and discover creative creators from Thailand.”
As of August, Zepeto surpassed 20 million global monthly active users (MAU). It has collaborated with over 100 global companies, with cumulative item sales exceeding 3 billion and creative content surpassing 5 billion.
The creator platform ‘Zepeto Studio,’ where users can directly create and sell various items, is also growing rapidly. More than 7 million creator-made items have been registered, and over 175 million items have actually been sold.
