Daelim University (President Hwang Un-kwang) Big Forest team participated in the 2022 KSAE Student Self-Constructed Car Competition held in Gunsan, Jeonbuk, and won the gold prize in the Technical Idea and Design category.
Yesin Lee, team leader of the Future Automotive Department design club, said, “It was challenging to complete the project within the given time while preparing for this competition, but thanks to the passion of Professor Youngsook Lee and the team members, we were able to overcome it well. Despite the hot weather, we encouraged each other and worked hard for good results, and winning the meaningful gold prize will make this summer an even more precious memory. I want to use this competition as a stepping stone to grow into a better talent in the future.”
Professor Youngsook Lee, the advisor, said, “With the support of the Innovation Sharing University Project, we were able to focus more on producing the work for this competition, and as a result, I am very pleased to have achieved the gold prize. This competition must have been a great opportunity for students to experience both theory and practice simultaneously. I will continue to play a good mentor role so that students can grow into better talents in the future.”
This competition was held in three categories: off-road race Baja, on-road race Formula, and technical categories (technical idea, design), with about 120 university student teams participating and competing fiercely.
