DB Insurance Launches 'Safe Driving Discount Special Contract' with Kakao Navi

[Asia Economy Reporter Changhwan Lee] DB Insurance announced on the 30th that it has launched the 'Safe Driving Discount Rider' in collaboration with KakaoNavi.

The UBI (Usage Based Insurance) rider, which offers discounts on insurance premiums based on individual driving habits, was first developed by DB Insurance in 2016 and introduced together with T map.

The safe driving score is determined by usual driving habits, and drivers who maintain a sufficient safe distance and avoid sudden acceleration, sudden deceleration, and speeding can receive a high score.

DB Insurance automobile insurance subscribers can apply for the discount rider if they have a qualifying score from either T map or KakaoNavi's safe driving scores.

KakaoNavi's safe driving score can be checked in the 'My Driving Record' menu, and insurance premium discounts are available starting from a score of 61. If the driver has driven more than 1000 km in the last six months and has a safe driving score of 61 or higher, they can receive a 3% discount; if the score is 71 or higher, a 12% discount applies.

All customers subscribing to DB Insurance automobile insurance can check their eligibility for the discount rider, and it can be combined with other discount riders such as the mileage discount rider.

A DB Insurance official stated, “The safe driving discount rider provides economic benefits to consumers by reducing insurance premiums and is expected to contribute socially by reducing traffic accidents.”
