Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation Holds Maker Space Practical Training Completion Ceremony

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Gyeonggi-do Job Foundation held a completion ceremony for the "Maker Space Practical Workforce Training Course" at the Youth Job Headquarters auditorium on the 26th.

This training took place over a total of four weeks as basic theory and practical education for idea design, production, and implementation in a Maker Space equipped with equipment and facilities for manufacturing creation.

A Maker Space is a workshop with the necessary tools and equipment where makers can produce and realize their ideas and designs, as well as a community space for makers.

The foundation especially included a two-week preparation course for an internationally recognized 3D modeling certification using a 3D program managed by ACU (Autodesk Certified User) to realize manufacturing ideas.

The graduates of the training will participate in a three-month field training and work experience program starting from the 29th at partner institutions equipped with Maker Space facilities.

Earlier last month, the foundation signed agreements with five institutions: Seongnam Youth Foundation Bundang Jeongja Youth Center "Ttukttak Lab," Kaywon University of Art and Design "Maker Space PLAY," Clio Design "Meca Lab" operated in cooperation with Uiwang City, Dohashiha Co., Ltd. "Idea Creation Lab Dokkaebi," and Siheung Industrial Promotion Agency "Siheung Maker Space."

Jo Eun-joo, head of the Youth Job Headquarters at the foundation, said, "We hope that the fresh ideas of young people can invigorate the manufacturing startup sector in the province through the space called Maker Space. We also hope that the graduates will improve their job skills through broader field training and work experience at the foundation’s partner institutions, and that the institution officials will have an opportunity to secure good talent."
