Corporation NCMN Holds Water Play Support Event for Multicultural Children in Yeongdeungpo

The '5K Love Sharing Bus' of the nonprofit organization NCMN announced that on the morning of the 20th, it successfully held an event with multicultural family children from Yeongdeungpo at Chuncheon Golden Monkey Water Park in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

This support activity for multicultural families was part of the 5K Movement promoted within NCMN, which carries out neighborly love campaigns in about 878 regions nationwide, and was hosted by the 5K Seoul Branch and 5K Friends.

Most of the multicultural family children who participated in the event usually had to stay home alone because their parents went out to work. Some children were experiencing water play for the first time, and through the support and participation of 5K Friends volunteers, mostly in their 20s and 30s, they were able to have a new experience.

An official stated, "As the Love Sharing Bus crossed the Han River, the children burst out in amazement. Some of them were crossing the Han River for the first time." He added, "From the children's voices of wonder at every small moment and their anticipation for water play, we could feel their excited hearts."

After arriving at the water park, volunteers helped the children change into swimsuits and aqua shoes prepared in advance, conducted safety education and warm-up exercises before entering the pool, and assigned a person in charge to each group of children to ensure a safe and memorable experience.

The water park featured various water play equipment and tube-type water play facilities consisting of 2 to 4 types, allowing all children to have a joyful time without exclusion. On one side of the event venue, volunteers prepared abundant snacks and refreshments such as hot dogs, tteokbokki, and cup noodles for the children despite the hot weather.

The children, who opened their hearts while playing in the water and spending time with the volunteers, expressed their regret at having to leave, saying they wanted to play more. The event ended joyfully with a promise of continued meetings between these multicultural family children and the 5K Friends volunteers.

NCMN's '5K Movement' is a nationwide campaign to spread neighborly love within a 5 km radius of where one lives. Since its establishment in 2012, the nonprofit organization NCMN has been practicing neighborly love by voluntarily participating volunteers nationwide to visit and support marginalized neighbors such as people with disabilities, homeless people, elderly living alone, North Korean defector youth, single mothers, and multicultural families.

NCMN stated that the volunteer activities of the '5K Love Sharing Bus,' which visits disaster sites and neighbors in need, will continue tirelessly in the future.
