Resolution to Transform into a 'Smart Institution' Trusted by the People
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Cheol-hyun] The Small and Medium Business Corporation (Chairman Kim Hak-do, hereinafter referred to as SBC), as a representative institution supporting small and medium enterprises, announced on the 28th that it held an 'Institution Innovation Workshop' with all department heads to proactively implement the government's public institution innovation policy.
The workshop held on the 26th was attended by executives including Chairman Kim Hak-do and all department heads of headquarters and field organizations, sharing the new government's public institution innovation direction and national policy tone, and forming a consensus on establishing innovation plans for the institution in response. SBC has been establishing institutional innovation plans by forming a dedicated team centered on the vice chairman to effectively implement the 'New Government Public Institution Innovation Guide' announced by the Ministry of Economy and Finance last July.
In particular, this workshop was conducted under strict quarantine rules to respond to the government's public institution innovation direction by sharing and discussing the innovation plans, which were internally reviewed focusing on core functions and overall organizational operation systems, with all executives. SBC has set key tasks such as reducing institutional operating expenses in the second half of the year, internal rank adjustment, job-centered personnel management, rational welfare, and asset management optimization, and plans to intensively promote institutional innovation going forward.
To more effectively implement the new government's national policy tone of 'private-led innovative growth' in the field, discussions among executives on innovation plans for the institution's core projects were also held. Representative topics included diversification of policy loan projects by introducing a secondary interest subsidy method, installation of a smart logistics center dedicated to small and medium enterprises to resolve logistics difficulties, establishment of contract departments for nurturing manpower in national strategic industries such as semiconductors, regional industry innovation through global innovation zones, and management plans for the soundness of loan assets that surged during the COVID-19 response process.
SBC plans to reflect the matters discussed at the workshop in detail in the innovation plan through the dedicated innovation promotion team and regularly check the progress to achieve results that customers can feel. Chairman Kim said, "As a representative support institution for small and medium ventures, we will lead public institution innovation by improving institutional operation systems and policy services," adding, "We will support innovative growth as a customer-centered smart support institution."
