[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Former People Power Party leader Lee Jun-seok used harsh language such as 'absolute ruler' and 'new military regime' to criticize President Yoon Seok-yeol, while Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo expressed concern on the 25th, calling it "truly regrettable."
On the same day, he said on his social network service (SNS), "Former leader Lee's extreme remarks and confrontational stance against President Yoon appear to be nothing more than a way to overcome the judicial procedures imposed on him."
Mayor Hong said, "Instead of responding judicially through lawyers, he is resorting to a political frame of eliminating opponents, believing that this is the only way to pave the path for a comeback, which is why he continues his daily tirades and extreme remarks. Why can't he realize that this process causes him to lose public and party support?"
He added, "Can President Yoon's side still embrace former leader Lee, who has now become like a cactus with poisonous needles? The ruling party must stabilize as soon as possible."
