Shopping Available with Welfare Points at Over 230 Stores Nationwide
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Chun-han] Emart Everyday announced on the 25th that it will launch the 'Welfare Club' service, which provides welfare point usage and welfare card discount benefits to public officials and employees of certain large corporations.
Shopping with welfare points will be possible at over 230 Emart Everyday directly managed stores nationwide and online, and customers who make payments will receive a 2% billing discount benefit. However, the purchase of some products such as tobacco and alcoholic beverages is restricted. Among supermarkets and large marts, Emart Everyday is the first to apply the Welfare Club service.
As of the first half of this year, the number of Welfare Club members is about 2.6 million, and the total amount of welfare points granted annually to all members is approximately 1.5 trillion won.
An Emart Everyday official said, "Given the difficult household economy, we introduced the Welfare Club service because we believe that more customers will use the welfare points provided annually for consumption closer to daily life and essential needs."
