Discussion on the Formation of Livestock Odor Regional Council and Operation Plans for Odor Reduction Facilities

More than 20 people, including pig farmers, are discussing measures to reduce livestock odor.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] On the 24th, Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam held a meeting to discuss measures to reduce livestock odor in the first-floor conference room of the Stay-type Agricultural Startup Support Center, attended by about 20 people including pig farmers.

At the meeting, opinions on the odor problem of livestock farms were heard, and discussions were held on the formation of a regional council for livestock odor, efficient operation and support plans for odor reduction facilities, and the direction for applying for the 2024 livestock odor improvement project contest.

In addition, to reduce livestock odor, guidance was provided on proper management of livestock manure and compost, methods to maximize the effectiveness of microbial agents, and precautions, emphasizing active use of odor reduction facilities.

Jung Soon-woo, Director of the Agriculture and Livestock Division, said, “It was a time to take a closer look at the difficulties and improvement plans faced by local livestock farmers,” and added, “I hope today's meeting will be helpful for farmers so that local livestock farmers can stably operate their livestock business and increase their income despite various difficulties.”
